Most advances close in 24 to 48 hours. Here's exactly what happens between the moment you apply and the moment funds hit your account.
Hour 0: You submit an application online or by phone. It takes about three minutes.
Hour 1–4: An AARC funding specialist reaches out to your attorney's office to request the case file and key documents.
Hour 4–24: Underwriting reviews liability, damages, and insurance coverage. Most cases receive an approval decision the same business day.
Hour 24–48: Once you accept the funding agreement, money is wired to your bank account or sent by check. Wire transfers usually arrive within a few hours.
The single biggest factor in timing is how quickly your attorney's office returns the case documents. If your attorney is responsive, funding can close in less than a day.
The honest answer: it depends on your attorney
AARC can underwrite most cases the same business day we receive the documents we need. The variable is how quickly your attorney's office returns those documents to us.
Responsive attorneys often produce a complete case file within hours. Busy or understaffed offices may take two to five business days. The single best thing you can do to speed funding is call your attorney's office and tell them an advance is in process.
What we actually request from your attorney
A typical case file includes the police or incident report, photos of the scene and injuries, the demand letter or initial filings, medical records and bills to date, and the at-fault party's insurance information.
If a case is further along, we also review any settlement offers received, expert reports, and any liens that will need to be satisfied at settlement.
Same-day funding is possible — here's how
Apply early in the morning, ideally before 10 a.m. Eastern. Call your attorney immediately after applying to alert them to expect our document request. Be available by phone for the underwriter's questions.
When all three of those things happen, same-day funding is realistic. Wire transfers arrive within a few hours of execution; ACH transfers can take until the next business day.
What slows the process down
The most common delays are attorney response time, missing medical records (especially when treatment spans multiple providers), and unresolved liability questions in the case file.
If your attorney is out of office or on trial, funding may need to wait until they return. We always work with whomever in the office can authorize document release.
Talk to AARC before you make a financial move you'll regret
Every situation is different, and the right answer depends on the specifics of your case, your timeline, and what you need the money for. The single best thing you can do is have a short, no-pressure conversation with someone who funds these cases every day.
Call AARC at (800) 297-3834 or apply online in about three minutes. There is no credit check, no obligation, and no cost to find out what you qualify for. If a cash advance isn't the right tool for your situation, we'll tell you that too.
